Job Finding App UI

Introduction

In recent times, I have seen most of the students can’t find the right platform for finding new job opportunities. Despite the fact that there are some platforms, there aren’t any proper mentors to guide them to land in their dream job.

Understanding the challenge

So the main challenge is there is no such platform where mentors can guide students to get new job opportunities. There is no such platform where organizations i.e. companies can keep their profile and post new job opportunities.

Job to be done

Instead of focusing on what the problem is or what the users want, I asked myself why they need it. By understanding why individuals need this application it expanded my odds of making a really significant product.

So I came up with an idea where organizations, Colleges, Students, and Mentors all this four can be at one place.

The idea is to design a mobile application where organizations for example industries and companies can enlist their profile and can post new job positions open doors for students. Colleges can keep their profile and get informed when a new job position is posted and can share among their students. Also, Mentors who are enrolled can direct students to find in their dream job.

This visual guide represents the wireframe of the app. It helped me arrange the interface elements and their functions.

Final design

I have designed four mobile UI each for Organizations , colleges , students, and mentors. Although all design interfaces are the same with minor changes, just to avoid the confusion for the user I have designed in this manner.

Organizations UI

This UI is for organization i.e., companies where they can register their profile and post new job opportunities. They can get in touch with colleges for hiring the students and they can even receive direct applications from students too.

Colleges UI

This UI is for college applications where colleges can register their profile for getting updates on new job posting. They can share those job postings among their students. Colleges can even get in touch with companies for placement drives in their campus .

By switching the branch icons they can see the job posting according to their branches. Courses which are offered by the respective college are shown in the branch scroll bar.

Student UI

Students can register their profile and can find new job postings. Jobs are visible according to their field of interest. Students should go through a skill test to get their skill score which helps them to get good job opportunities, so when they apply for a job ,companies can go through their skill score and select them because nowadays practical knowledge and skills are considered more than grades which are secured in exams. Students can choose a mentor as a guide for finding a job and applying for it . This helps students to secure a job easily.

Mentors UI

This UI is for mentors who guide the students to land in their dream job. Mentors can interact with students and share job applications with them. Mentors should go through a test which is based according to their profession ,they will get a test score which helps students to choose the right mentor. Mentors are rewarded with badges according to the feedback given by students. The more badges earned by an individual the much greater is his/her reputation, with such work format position can be increased and thus an individual would be easy to choose as mentor.

• Deep research about specific features
• Usability test of the prototype with users
• Improve user flow

Future Features

• Adding classroom features so that students can learn new skills with help of mentors.
• Giving feedback to students on their skill test performance and suggesting ways to improve their performance in areas where there are lacked behind.

Final Thoughts

Every year lakhs of students are getting graduated but only a few are flying out with job opportunities ,remaining are left unemployed which leads to an increase in unemployment rate. There is no right platform with mentors who can guide them to land in their dream job.

The goal of this mobile application is, students who are getting graduated can get correct guidance from well trained mentors to get job opportunities. JOBIZ is designed in a manner where companies, institutions, students and mentors can be at one place for generating new opportunities.

It is my hope that this app will be supported by organizations and institutions with understanding that provides better opportunities for students.
